After much planning and weeks of work, the Gracie Technics Jiu-Jitsu Academy has moved…….. Next door! Our main mat space is now located in the old Auto Detailing space next door. To better serve our members we have expanded the main mat area by 500 square feet. We have added a dressing area/locker room, an in space restroom and shower.
We are currently in the process of renovating our old space to include another mat room/multipurpose room to hold our dedicated Striking, MMA & Womens Programs. Look for big things in 2012 from the GT Academy!
On Sunday, December 11th, more than 40 athletes and jiu jitsu players gathered at the Gracie Technics Academy Honolulu for the Caio Terra Jiu-Jitsu Seminar. At the request of the participants, Caio covered details of his Terra guard and taught several sequences that he uses in his World Class Jiu-Jitsu.
Throughout the seminar Caio demonstrated his mat prowess and innovate style that has won him multiple world titles in Gi and No-Gi competitions. Caio shared techniques he spent years developing and held nothing back from his audience.
We would like to give a special thanks to Eric Goo from Mad Tiger Academy, Todd Tanaka from Relson Gracie (http://www.teamhk.net/) for supporting the seminars and hosting Caio. Also like to give a BIG MAHALO TO CAIO for coming to the Islands and sharing his knowledge and passion of jiu jitsu.

On June 25, 2011 Multiple Time World Champion Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro conducted a Jiu-Jitsu Seminar at the Gracie Technics Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The turnout for the seminar was great, with many of Oahu’s Jiu-Jitsu practitioners eager to learn the the champ.
Xande lead the group through a Ginastica Natural warmup to prepare them for the techniques he taught.
The seminar focused on cross body control and the fine details that allow you keep the weight and pressure on your opponent with ease and efficiency.
Xande transitioned from the cross body into the the back control and shared more ideas, techniques and submissions that would commonly occur when maintaining the position.
Xande answers a question about posture in the guard and shows the group his favorite method for opening the closed guard.
Thanks to all who attended the seminar, keep supporting the growth and unity of Jiu-Jitsu in Hawaii!
Black Belts in attendance: Todd Tanaka, Jeff “JD” Doner, Xande Ribeiro, Rylan Lizares, Eric Goo.
